Profile of the Programme

Background

In 2014, Ghent University has started it’s first and unique extended campus in Korea, in Incheon Global Campus (IGC), following the invitation by the Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy (MOTIE), the Ministry of Education (MoE), and the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ).

 

Ghent University Global Campus offers three 4-year Bachelor’s programmes (240 credits, English taught) in the life sciences domain, more specifically in:

 

For these subjects, Ghent University ranks easily within the top 50 of various international rankings (including the Academic Ranking of World Universities Shanghai Ranking 2018).
The courses for the first two years are the same for all three programmes (common core), focussing on Sciences, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects. After that, in the third and fourth year, specialized and programme specific courses are offered. Throughout the entire programme, attention is also given to social sciences (economical (including management), ethical, legal considerations), practical (research) skills, employability and scientific communication (in English).

 

The programmes and granted degrees are Ghent University programmes and degrees.

Accreditation
Ghent University Global Campus has been accredited by both the Ministry of Education (Korea) and by the Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (Belgium).
The Chinese Ministry of Education also included Ghent University Global Campus on its list of authorized foreign educational institutions.
